The city of Bangkok experiences high temperatures through out the year, which usually remain above the 30°C / 86°F point. Hence the city is renewed for its hot climate and abundant sunshine and falls in the tropical climate zone. The months between November and February are the busiest in Bangkok as hordes of tourists arriving in the city, but it is also the driest with increased humidity levels becoming especially sticky in April and May.
From March to August weather in Bangkok reaches its peak heat wise, while the rainy season commences in June and runs all the way through to October. Weather during the wet season is tempered by short spells of rain fall and frequent afternoon showers, but also by monsoons and occasionally bouts of thunder. The rainy weather may continue for the most part of the day, and as a consequence Bangkok receives about 90 percent of its annual rainfall during this period. However despite the prevailing rainy weather, Bangkok weather is often intercepted by extended spells of sunshine.
